I have to comment on schizophrenia.

One thing that Jung uncovered during his work with psychosis is that there seems to be a reversal of reality and dream in schizophrenics.

When we dream, most of our dreams are erratic, non-linear, dream-like and often archetypal with mythic representations of our deepest unconscious. We dream of flying kittens, monsters, Mr. T being our prom date.

Our waking world is our reality.

In many schizophrenics, their waking world IS a dreamscape. They see flying kittens, monsters, etc.

They dream of mundane things. One of Jung's schizophrenics (who thought vampires from the moon were attacking her and trying to get her to become a vampire) had a dream that went something like this:

I got up in the morning. I made myself some breakfast. I noticed I needed to do the dishes. I did the dishes. Then I made a grocery list. Then I went to the store. I bought groceries. I came home. I put the groceries away.

If you've ever seen the movie with Robin Williams, The Fisher King, you might get an idea of a schizophrenic's mind.

For me, that really says a lot about our reality and what is real VS what is imagined.

Mr. T being our prom date.
I bet Freud would have a field day with THAT dream...
