So, I just finished the game (sans x-pack) and I can't help but be disappointed. The whole thing with Morigan was lame. The way all of the companions just virtually disappeared was weak. I just can't find anything about the ending I enjoyed. It all seemed really lack-luster.
One thing troubled me more than anything about this game: It lacked variance. Whether you're recruiting dwarves, Elves, or saving Magi, you always had more-or-less the same challenges. There wasn't much side-questing aside from your typical 'go here, kill this, return with this' type crap. I think this game would've been a lot better had they fleshed out a world you could travel around in, more like Oblivion.
Dunno. Overall, I feel like this was an 'okay' game, but isn't deserving of the success it has had. I'm torn on even getting the expansion, now.
There are several different endings. Morrigan does disappear regardless of choice, but Alistair is gone in my main save and dead in my second one, so Enora remained queen anyways. Loghain sucks but he's not nearly as whiny as Alistair was. They all disappear, but that's what you should expect.. they help you, then they go back to their lives. What sucks is if you side with the werewolves, they eventually die out anyways so it's completely worthless as a choice.
