Love him or hate him, he was a legend. I wonder what this means for Pantheon.

I'll be keeping my eyes on this. I've been playing a lot of Eve but I can't get my group of friends to join me there. This might get us grouping again.

Re: Trump is now president.

That's why Elizabeth Warren was so desperate to prove her Native American heritage. She needed something to use. I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with trying to silence the attacks she was getting on it from the right. Maybe she just didn't want the distraction of constantly being called "Poc...

Re: Income Inequality

My mistake on the profit numbers. Revenue was higher and I didn't realize that only the product cost were taken out and not payroll or overhead. It works out to about $4500 per employee which is far more reasonable.

Re: Income Inequality

That is just the CEO, it's more of a difference when you add up all the executives. You also have to look at the profit though. In 2018 Walmart made $126 billion. That is $57K per employee, while the median salary for those employees is $19K. Try and work out a budget you could live on with 19K a ye...

Re: Income Inequality

To me, Income Inequality is a moral and economic problem. On the economic side it's a matter of buying power. What is a more powerful driver of an economy, a million people with $10K to spend, or one person with $10bil? Since 1978, average workers have seen an increase of income of 11.2%, while exec...

abandoned debate for virtue signaling demonization of ANYONE that does not fit into a box The Left have gone completely batshit insane. They just toss out core American values like Due Process and Free Speech on a whim. Communists/Marxists abound and College is nothing but an indoctrination exercis...

Re: Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen

I want to be excited about this, but I'm a bit torn. After the disaster that was Vanguard, I promised myself I would never buy something that Brad McQuaid touched. Vanguard had such amazing potential, but was so poorly managed that it ended in shut down. However, I really want to play a game like EQ...

Thanks for taking the time to handle this. The board isn't very active, but I would be sad if it died.

Re: Trump is now president.

I assume you mean fiscally left, as I don't think Republicans have much room to pull right on social issues. It would be nice to see a party that actually cared about the deficit.

Re: Trump is now president.

After the shell shock of the election has worn off I'm starting to think that this might have been the best thing to happen. Assuming of course that we don't end up in a Thermonuclear Exchange. If Hillary had won we would have had 4-8 more years of the same. Now, Republicans are forced to actually g...

Re: Supreme Court

I think it's in the spirit of the constitution that the senate at least vote on the nominee. I guess you could argue that they are not bound to ever vote on it. I don't have a problem with Gorsuch himself. He doesn't share my views but replacing Scalia with someone who holds similar views keeps some...

Re: Supreme Court

I don't think a filibuster is any more radical than not even bringing a vote for almost a year. At least it would be a 60 vote threshold which could be met. If the tables were turned, and the Dem's had refused to vote, there is not one doubt in my mind that Republicans would filibuster. The Senate h...

Supreme Court

I'm really torn on how I think Democrats should handle the Supreme Court nomination. Part of me is still angry over the seat being stolen and wants the Dems to filibuster. This would push republicans to change Senate rules and I'm not sure if that would be a good or bad thing. On the other hand, the...

Re: Election 2016

I voted with my heart instead of my brain. At first I thought that Sanders did not stand any chance but he surprised me by making Iowa a tie. Maybe he will be able to run the long game against Hillary like Obama did and pull out a win for the nomination but it probably won't happen. Sanders is reall...
